Pixie Lott will be spending Christmas at home in Brentwood.
After a whirlwind year, touring the UK and filming her first movie in Hollywood, the 19-year-old star confessed our town still “has a special place in her heart”.
The Gazette caught up with her at the premiere of her first cinema release Fred the Movie in London’s Leicester Square on Sunday.
Greeting fans alongside co-star Lucas Cruikshank, Pixie graced the red carpet outside Vue looking every bit the A-lister in a super-short black dress.
After signing autographs, posing for pictures and sharing comments with the press, Pixie met editor Neville Wilson for a chat about her big-screen venture.
She said: “I’ve been to a few premieres before, but it’s different to actually be one of the stars. It’s really exciting.
“I’ve done acting since the age of five, studied lots of different plays, so it wasn’t a completely new thing for me to do.
“But I think fans will get to see a different side of me, they’ll see me in a different situation – it feels weird seeing myself in a movie though.”
Pixie plays the girl next door, and the love interest for Cruikshank who plays the eponymous hero.
But with her first Hollywood role under her belt, and her second in the pipeline, Pixie is ditching the Los Angeles glitz and glamour for a family Christmas back home.
She said: “I love the UK too much, I still go home to Brentwood all the time.
“We’ll be having a big family Christmas in Brentwood.”
And, giving a welcome break to both Pixie and her mother Bev, who works as her manager and accompanied her on tour, it will be her auntie who will be cooking up the feast on the big day this year.
The whole family are due to jet off for a skiing holiday in Austria in the new year.
