Pixie Lott has dug deep into her pockets to help out disadvantaged kids.
The Broken Arrow singer attended the Italia Conti stage school before finding fame between 2000 and 2006.
And now the 20-year-old star has set up a scholarship fund at the facility, using her own cash.
Pixie has donated £50,000 to the Andrew Sargeant Fund and told The Sun of her generous contribution: “I know it’s not a fortune but it helps.”
Lott recently revealed she’s hoping for more acting work in the future. Meanwhile, she’s currently recording songs for her second album – which she described as being more soulful than her debut Turn It Up.

Pixie Lott ‘working with big names on new LP’
Pixie Lott has revealed that she has arranged some big-name collaborations for her second album.
The ‘Cry Me Out’ singer told Digital Spy on the orange carpet of this year’s Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards that she has been working hard on the follow-up to 2009′s Turn It Up and that her sound has developed.
“Writing the album is going pretty well,” she said. “I’ve just been in the studio every day and I’m just determined to make sure you guys like it.
“It’s still pop stuff, but maybe a little more soulful. That’s the kind of thing that I’m into. That influence is stronger on this album.
“There are a couple of really cool collaborations on the album and I’ve already worked with some big people, but I can’t say who they are just in case those tracks don’t make the final cut. But I can say that they are really, really exciting.”
The Wanted have previously expressed interest in a duet with Lott.
The Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards air in the UK on Friday, April 8 at 8pm on Nickelodeon and nick.co.uk.

Selena Gomez worked with Pixie Lott on new album
Add one more reason we’re excited to hear Selena Gomez and The Scene’s third album — because they worked with Pixie Lott!
Selena, 18, tells MTV, “There is one [song] that I’m completely in love with, and it was written by Pixie Lott, who I am obsessed with, and it’s my mom’s favorite song. It’s very sweet. It’s kind of a ballad, but not really. It’s basically about living in the moment; it’s about enjoying right now. I’m very much enjoying right now. I’m in a good place.”
What about other songs? “The third record is really fun, and there’s a song called ‘Hit the Lights’ that I love, and it’s basically about every missed opportunity that you’ve had. But it’s also a dance track. There’s a lot more depth [on this album],” Selena added.

Gregg Sulkin Hopes Pixie Lott Succeeds In America
British actor Gregg Sulkin has dished on his friendship with Mama Do singer Pixie Lott.
The 18-year-old – who appears as Selena Gomez’ on-screen boyfriend Mason Greyback in Wizards of Waverly Place – hopes Pixie is a hit when she launches her music career in America.
“She’s a real family friend,” Gregg said. “Hopefully she carries on and comes over to America and does her thing.
“We’re very very close. We’re family friends, I met Pixie at a swimming pool in LA and we had so many mutual friends. I’m not sure how we never met before,” the Avalon High star told Bliss.
“So we started speaking and hanging out, then we continued the friendship back in the UK. Every time she comes to America we hang out and vice verse when I come back.”

In the studio with Toby Gad
Toby Gad Tweeted these two lovely shots of himself and Pixie in the studio yesterday recording some tracks in LA. Toby is the producer behind some of Pixie’s loveliest hits such as ‘Broken Arrow’, ‘Band Aid’ and ‘Nothing Compares’. I’m sure the new material will be just as good. Watch this space!
Pixie Lane?
An idea has been put forward to have a road named after Pixie in her home town of Brentwood and the local Gazette have now picked up on the idea to give it some media coverage. It would be brilliant for Pixie to have such a landmark so we need to do our best to push for the council to consider the idea seriously. There are many ways that we can do this. Firstly, you can vote for Pixie Lane on the paper’s website here, e-mail the paper at editorial@gazettenews.co.uk, call 01245 603337 or write to their offices at Brentwood Gazette, Media Centre, Westway, Chelmsford, Essex CM1 3BE. You can also Tweet them @Gazetteseries by writing Pixie Lane, followed by #brentwoodcelebs. The idea was first muted by our own crazycat Mike who mentioned the following. Please do your best to be active in this and we may see the launch of Pixie Lane very soon!
The idea to name streets after famous residents came from Mike Faulkner, a fan of Brentwood songbird Pixie Lott. Mike, 41, told the Gazette why he thought she was worthy of such an honour.
“She has come from nowhere, she writes her own songs and hasn’t done Pop Idol,” he said. Mike, who lives in Rainham and works as a car delivery driver, has seen Pixie Lott twice in concert, including at the Brentwood Centre in November.
He also has a suggestion for a road name to honour her achievements.
“Someone suggested a car park called Pixie Lot but that’s just taking the mick,” he said. “I think Pixie Lane sounds good.”
What do you think? Get in touch with the news desk and let us know.
Although there are currently no streets named after modern-day celebrities in Brentwood, there are some which bear the names of high-profile people from the town’s history. William Hunter Way is an example.
Arriving in LA
Pixie is currently in LA and I have added some high quality candids of Pixie at the airport in the early hours of this morning. Pixie wrote on Twitter that she is there working on new album material with Toby Gad. Hopefully we’ll get to hear some new stuff soon. Enjoy your trip, Pixie!
